Abel Is currently serving as Senior Financial Consultant for the United States Department of
Agriculture (USDA). Abel is a poet and an author. He has published two books in the English language titled (1) እግዚእ፡ Wisdom Compass to Eternal and Life and (2) GPS for America: Toward a more perfect union. Abel is also principal for Abel Enterprises, LLC a consulting firm supporting businesses with new business development planning, organizational design, financial and marketing planning. Abel has served with community leadership roles in the Diaspora for different missions, projects and organizations and has many years of experience in organizational governance. He is the current board Chairman of the Debre Genet Ethiopian Orthodox Church, in Temple Hill, MD. He has played a critical role as a Director of Media and Communication to galvanize the Diaspora to execute successful reception of His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed in the USA particularly in the Washington Metro area. He is currently serving as a co-founder and President of Ethiopian Center for Peace and Progress with mission to bring all Ethiopians together. Abel has also been serving as Secretary for Ethiopian Diaspora Fund – DC metro chapter. With the long-term vision to support the EOTC future, Abel is chairing the committee for Tsireha Tsion Geez university Project that is currently under construction in Bahir Dar. Abel has also led Tayitu Cultural and Educational Center, the biggest cultural outside of Ethiopia as a Board President from 2016 – 2019. Abel has co-founded the Gojjam Edir in the Washington.
